Yobe governor snubs Atiku’s 2027 coalition

Governor Mai Mala Buni from Yobe State states clearly that he will not become part of the opposition coalition led by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

The statement released through Alhaji Mamman Mohammed who serves as Director-General for Press and Media Affairs addresses this matter from his base in Damaturu on Saturday.

Reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) indicated that Buni alongside four other APC governors were said to have reached a decision to join PDP while forming a political coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

Alhaji Mamman Mohammed characterized the viral message as false and made up and unsupported speculation which completely diverged from factual reality.

According to him the text author lacked sufficient proximity to the governor to establish any reliable political forecasts.

Governor Buni makes a distinct impact on APC since being a party member is not equal to being a regular APC governor. APC exists in every part of him as he embodies the political philosophy of this party from head to toe.

Buni stands apart due to his double term as National Secretary and National Chairman at APC and his leadership of the convention committee due to which predictions about his party departure are unfounded.

Mohammed explained that the author along with his funding sources must have found great value in Buni’s political leadership abilities and wished to see someone of his caliber. The author’s desire for this situation could be considered wishful thinking according to his words.
