Veteran actor Jide Kosoko has voiced his opinion on sexual exploitation in Nollywood, urging aspiring actors to prioritize their self-respect and dignity.
He expressed his views as the most recent guest on the Honest Bunch Podcast, emphasizing that no actress should feel compelled to accept a sex-for-role proposition.

While recognizing that some individuals may opt for dubious methods to further their careers, he urged others to stay true to their principles and not compromise their integrity for the sake of fame.
He said;
If I say I need you to come warm my bed before I can give you a particular movie role and you say you don’t want to, just go. They cannot force you to do that. But if you want that role, by all means…I know some ladies who come into the industry with the determination that by the time I sleep with this person and that person, I will get my name.
He acknowledged, however, that if an actress willingly agrees to a sex-for-role proposal from a filmmaker, that’s her choice, implying that she’s choosing to “dance to his tune.”

Jide Kosoko clarified that his stance doesn’t condone sex-for-role practices. Instead, he believes actresses who succumb to such proposals should own their decision and stop complaining to the public about it.
But if you want that role by all means, that means you want to dance to his tune. I’m not saying he’s right to have introduced that to you but if he says it one way or the other, and you fall to it, that’s your business, how does that concern the whole world?
