VeryDarkMan reacts to Eedris Abdulkareem’s song banned by NBC

Controversial activist VeryDarkMan has vowed to fund the video production for the newly banned protest track, Tell Your Papa, which the Nigerian government recently prohibited.

The Federal Government, via the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), issued the ban on Thursday, labeling the song inappropriate and offensive.

Ironically, the move drew widespread attention to the track, which had previously flown under the radar.

In response, VeryDarkMan condemned the government’s decision to ban the song from Nigerian radio and television, arguing that the lyrics reflect the truth. He pledged to support artist Abdulkareem in producing a new version of the music video.

Social media activist, Verydarkman

In a video message posted on his social media page, VeryDarkMan stated,

I went to Eedris Abdulkareem’s page and saw the message NBC sent to him that they have banned his song, ‘Tell Your Papa,’ wherein he asked Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to tell his father that there is hardship in the country and people are dying.

So the government doesn’t want to hear it on the stations, and they know he is telling the truth. Isn’t there hardship in the country? Ain’t people dying from insecurity?

This is what we are going to do now. First of all, we don’t even know radio. How many people listen to radio or watch TV? That’s by the way. We are going to take it over by social media.

Dear Eedris Abdulkareem, We are going to shoot another video. This time, we will sponsor it. I will be in the video. We will also look for Tinubu’s lookalike since we can’t get the President to be in the video. We will remake the video, ‘Tell Your Papa 2.’ Then, we will also highlight other problems.

That [the ban] is to say, this people listen to what is going on in Nigeria but they don’t want to act. Then, when you talk, they want to control the media so that you don’t have a voice, and this voice doesn’t exceed what they can control.

‘Truth is big crime in Nigeria’ – Eedris Abdulkareem Reacts

Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has responded to the Federal Government’s ban on his recently released anti-Tinubu track, Tell Your Papa.

Reacting to the ban in an Instagram post on Thursday evening, Abdulkareem said;

It’s obvious that in Nigeria, Truth and constructive criticism are always deemed as a big crime by the government, and this present government led by President Bola Tinubu is now going on record as one of the most insensitive, vindictive and grossly maleficent administration ever to preside over the affairs of Nigeria.

Just under 2 years of his presidency, and the results are just frighteningly abysmal from all fronts. And this is a fact, known by all Nigerians, irrespective of religion, tribe, and political affiliations, except for the few happy slaves grovelling for crumbs from their paymaster’s table!

The attached letter has been sent to all broadcast houses in Nigeria, instructing them to shield the government by hiding the candle under the table.

Well, I have travelled this road before as this is reminiscent of the ban of my song “Jaga Jaga”, by the Obasanjo administration 21 years ago!

Any wonder why Nigeria hasn’t made impactful strides all these years?

“The Conscience is an open wound, only the Truth can heal it.”

Aluta Continua!!!
