Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Thursday led a high-powered delegation on a fact-finding mission to Edo State following the recent killings of 16 Kano indigenes in Uromi.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the constitution of the delegation to interface with the Hausa/Fulani community in Edo to evaluate the situation that led to the attack on the 27 hunters in Uromi while traveling from Rivers to Kano.
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo recently led top members of his cabinet on a condolence visit to Tarankawa village, Bunkure Local Government Area, Kano State Government had sought for adequate compensation and justice for relatives of the victims.
In a statement issued by Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, spokesperson to the Deputy Governor, the delegation includes Emir of Rano, Ambassador Mohammad Isa Umar; Commissioners for Religious Affairs, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Special Duties and Women Affairs; Chairman of Bunkure Local Government Area; among other top officials.

Before leaving the Deputy Governor reinforced the committee’s dedication to delivering justice along with peace and reconciliation.
The committee exists to perform an investigation alongside consulting activities before delivering recommendations about sustainable solutions. The committee operates beyond mere fact-gathering operations to focus on peace construction which strives to restore trust along with stopping additional violence according to Gwarzo.
The sad event that occurred during the previous month raised substantial conflict levels in the concerned area. During its weeklong stay the committee will engage in scheduled meetings with Edo State Governor together with security leaders, traditional elite and civil society groups.
Northern Governors Forum implements this initiative as part of its broader security intervention designed to show governmental solidarity and unite the nation in addressing escalating national security threats throughout the country.
