Security forces conducted a military strike against the camp of terrorist leader Dutsin-Ma in which they eliminated three insurgents while freeing 84 detainees among which were 54 children and 30 adults.
Nigerian Army troops assaulted the hideout of well-known terrorist leader Sanusi Dutsin-Ma in Pauwa highlands located in Kankara Local Government Area of KatsinaState.
The troops performed a raid on Tuesday which led to three confirmed terrorist deaths while they rescued 54 children alongside 30 adults composed of 23 females and seven males who had been held by the terrorists.
Dr. Nasiru Mua’zu of the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs released this statement on Thursday in Katsina.
The “success-driven operation” was executed jointly by soldiers from the 17 Brigade alongside Air force units under Operation Forest Sanity.
Security forces started their deliberate attack against Sanusi Dutsin-Ma’s terrorist enclave at Pauwa highlands general area in Kankara LGA on March 18, 2025 at 0900 hours local time.
The military executed the operation through airspace bombardments on targeted areas followed by ground forces who conducted offensive operations. The security forces fought terrorists at Malori and Matalawa while pushing them deeper into the hill territories.

The security forces arrived at SanusiDutsin-Ma camp at 1509 hours for a firefight operation which lasted from 1509 to 1630 hours. Security forces conducted the operation which led to the elimination of three terrorists but allowed unidentified terrorists to escape with wounds.
Mua’zu declared that 84 individuals including seven males and twenty-three females and fifty-four children found freedom because of the security force actions at terrorist camps. The forces destroyed both pairs of camouflage uniforms and additional strange items discovered during their operation.
The rescued captives received emergency meals immediately before government officials from their selected local area delivered them back to family members.
Through the rescue operation that resulted in freeing 84 kidnapped victims with children leading the list the state government confirmed its dedication to creating peace and security throughout the state.
The professional troop conduct earning his praise because these forces completed the mission without suffering any deaths among their government personnel.
