The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Directorate conducted 13 arrests of suspected internet fraud operators across Uyo throughout the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The media services head at EFCC named Dele Oyewale published this information in a statement which reached journalists on Tuesday.

The statement reveals that Friday March 21 2025 marked the day EFCC made arrests through an intelligence-based sting operation. Seven suspects were arrested at Campgee Hotel while five others were caught near Mission Road off Ring Road 3 and the remaining suspect was taken in from other parts of Uyo.
The EFCC confiscated multiple items which included two luxury automobiles and five laptop computers together with fourteen mobile phones from the detained suspects.
The statement confirmed that investigations would lead to court charges for all arrested suspects.
