Dangote Refinery slashes petrol price again to N835/litre in Nigeria

In a significant development for Nigeria’s energy sector, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a further reduction in the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The new ex-depot price is set at N835 per litre, down from N865 per litre—a 3.5% decrease. This marks the second price cut in recent weeks and aligns with a global decline in crude oil prices, which have dropped to $64 per barrel from over $70 earlier this month.

Previously, the refinery had reduced the price from N880 to N865 per litre. Despite these adjustments, many oil marketers have yet to reflect the lower prices at retail pumps.

With a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote Refinery is playing a transformative role in Nigeria’s fuel supply chain, positioning itself as a driving force behind the country’s push for energy self-sufficiency and price stability.
