Super Eagles: Ikpeba supports Osimhen in his quest to break Yekini’s all-time record

The legendary footballer Victor Ikpeba believes that Victor Osimhen will surpass Rashidi Yekini’s all-time marks for Nigerian national team goals.

After scoring two goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 Rwanda victory on Friday Victor Osimhen shifted up to the runner-up position in the Super Eagles’ scoring leaderboard.

The 26-year-old forward has scored 25 goals across 39 matches with the Super Eagles national team.

Victor Osimhen trails the all-time Nigerian national record by only twelve goals which Rashidi Yekini established with 37.

Ikpeba believes Osimhen has all the tools to surpass the record set by Rashidi Yekini.

Ikpeba said,

“By the way he is going, Osimhen will soon eclipse the record of Yekini,” predicted Ikpeba.

“He’s a fantastic lad and a committed player who gives everything for the country.

“We will soon see when he will break this record.”
