President Tinubu Extends Nandap’s Tenure Until 2026.

President Tinubu extended the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, until December 31, 2026. He initially appointed her on March 1, 2024, and planned for her tenure to end on August 31, 2025.

This approval was granted by President Tinubu on March 31, 2025. Consequently, the extension ensures continuity in leadership at the Nigeria Immigration Service. Moreover, it reflects the government’s confidence in Nandap’s ability to oversee the agency effectively.

A statement issued by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development on Monday. In addition, the statement highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening national security and border management.

Furthermore, President Tinubu praised Nandap for her leadership. He stated that Nigeria had seen improvements in border management, immigration modernization, and national security under her tenure. As a result, her policies have helped streamline immigration processes and improve service delivery.

“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service has witnessed significant advancements in its core mandate,” the statement read. “There have been notable improvements in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and national security measures.”
