During the first quarter of the year the Ebonyi State National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Command arrested 112 drug-related offense suspects and confiscated 55.947 kilogrammes of various illegal substances.
Mr Peter Ogar who serves as the State Commander and signed the statement announced that the 112 arrested suspects consisted of 85 males along with 27 females ranging from 16 years old to 76 years old.
He clarified that this arrest count includes drug dealers together with drug users and traffickers who were captured across multiple locations throughout the present quarter in the state.
Ogar reported that four persons had received convictions as the Command provided counseling services to 59 individuals between 21 and 76 years old which included 45 males and 14 females.

The command took into custody someone holding a home-made handgun.
The command leader reaffirmed his commitment to the anti-drug warfare and urged additional partnerships from stakeholders as an approach to stop drug-related crimes.
Together they organized various workshops alongside drug abuse awareness campaigns in all local governments within Ebonyi for both youths and high school students.
The state commander (NDLEA) reported the seizure of multiple drugs including monkey tail weighing 11.2 liters at 11.2 kilograms together with methamphetamine at 0.054 kilograms along with bromazepam tablets totalling 46 units weighing 0.020 kilograms and 84 pentazocine amputates holding 0.244 kilograms and 0.014 kg of heroin.
Cannabis Sativa along with Tramadol tablets and tramadol 100mg (1189 capsules) and diazepam 988 tablets and other psychotropic substances were among the drugs that weighed 55.947 kgs.
