EPL: Man City hit with Haaland injury blow

Following Sunday’s FA Cup victory against Bournemouth, Manchester City released a statement on Monday addressing Erling Haaland’s ankle injury.
Haaland, who had equalized with a close-range goal, was substituted by Omar Marmoush after sustaining the injury.

Haaland was seen wearing a protective boot while exiting the Vitality Stadium.
With worries mounting that his season might be finished, Manchester City has now provided an update regarding his fitness status.

An official statement read in part:
“Erling underwent initial tests in Manchester on Monday morning and will now seek specialist consultation to confirm the full extent of the injury. Assessment remains ongoing to ascertain a full prognosis.
“The expectation is that Erling will be fit in time to play a further part in the remainder of this season, including this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.”
