Tuface’s Lover, Natasha Osawaru removed as Edo assembly minority leader

Natasha Osawaru, known for her relationship with singer 2Face Idibia, has been removed from her role as Minority Leader in the Edo State House of Assembly.

Osawaru, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing the Egor constituency, lost her position following a significant shift in party dynamics. Four PDP lawmakers recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), tipping the balance of power and giving the APC majority control in the assembly.

THE SHAKEUP
Alongside Osawaru, Charity Aiguobarueghian, the former Majority Leader, and Yekini Idaiye, who held the position of Chief Whip, were also removed.
Despite the shake-up, Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko—both PDP members—retained their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The changes were triggered by a letter from Jarret Tenebe, Acting Chairman of the APC in Edo State, informing the assembly of the party’s new majority status.

In response, the Speaker announced new APC appointments to key positions: Ibhamawu Aigbokhan (Esan West) as Majority Leader, Addeh Isibor (Esan North-East I) as Deputy Leader, and Lecky Hussein Mustapha (Etsako West I) as Chief Whip.
Agbebaku noted that the PDP leadership would soon submit nominees for the remaining principal roles and added that the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker may be subject to review.
“The PDP leadership in the state will present its nominees for principal officers to the House,” Agbebaku stated.
Recent developments highlight the ongoing instability in the Edo Assembly, with shifting party loyalties signaling more political battles on the horizon.
