Edo Killings: Sanusi urges Kano youths to shun retaliation

The 16th Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II directs Kano youths to avoid attacking innocent non-indigenes in their state because of the killings of northern travelers within Edo State.
Sanusi delivered his sermon following the two-rakats Eid-el-fitr prayer at Kofar Mata Eid ground after which he served as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as well as served as former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to caution youths about breaking the law.
The monarch demanded both the government and law enforcement to take instant action and fulfill justice through appropriate procedures for those harmed by this savage incident.
The royal father alerted his people on Saturday night that curious youths supposedly planned reprisal attacks on non-individuals following the prayers at the end of the Muslim holy day. Such attacks receive instructions from us for non-execution.

The authorities must refrain from retaliatory actions through their personal initiative because we request them to avoid taking matters into their own hands. The community members must prevent any situation that leads to the deterioration of law enforcement. Traditional leaders must remain alert to any attempts of vigilante action.
We request relevant authorities to provide justice for victims of this cruel deed. He demanded that the relevant authorities should both investigate the event and arrest those responsible for such brutality.
During his Eid prayers Sanusi urged Muslims to maintain the positive learning points from Ramadan so they would not return to errors or wrong conduct.
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf led Deputy Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo along with former Deputy Governor Prof. Hafiz Abubakar and commissioners and aides to perform two rakat prayers.
The 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero requested relevant authorities to enforce justice against those responsible for the Edo mob violence and subsequent killings.
The Emirate Governor Bayero made a Sallah message to request swift justice for those killed during the Edo massacre.
