[VIDEO] Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori dumps PDP for APC

In a significant political development, Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a major shift in the state’s political dynamics.

According to Arise TV, the defection was confirmed on Wednesday evening after a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba. Speaking by phone, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, explained that the decision came after “extensive consultations with political stakeholders” and was made in the interest of Delta’s long-term growth.

Oborevwori, who was elected governor in 2023 under the PDP, was welcomed by senior APC figures, marking a high-profile gain for the ruling party.
