Dejan Kulusevski in race against time for Europa League final after undergoing surgery

Dejan Kulusevski missed Tottenham training for a second consecutive day on Wednesday, putting his availability for next week’s Europa League final in doubt.

The Swedish winger picked up a knee injury during Spurs’ 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday, raising serious concerns about his fitness ahead of the May 21 showdown with Manchester United in Bilbao.

Although manager Ange Postecoglou expressed optimism on Monday about Kulusevski’s recovery, the player has yet to resume training.

Kulusevski was again absent from Wednesday morning’s session as the squad prepared for their upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa on Friday.

With Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison already sidelined, Kulusevski’s potential involvement in the final could prove crucial for Tottenham.

Speaking to reporters, Postecoglou said:

He was a bit sore this morning with his knee. It looks like a knock at this stage.

We are going to let it settle for 24 hours and then assess it, but the initial thing is, it is more of a knock than anything more significant. Fingers crossed, he is OK.
