China not afraid – President Xi Jinping sends warning to Trump

China has declared plans to impose new tariffs of up to 125% on U.S. goods starting April 12, warning it will “fight to the end” if Washington continues to encroach on its interests. Additionally, Beijing has submitted a new complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in response to the latest U.S. tariff actions.

China has intensified its trade tensions with the United States by announcing new tariffs of up to 125% on a wide array of American goods, set to take effect on April 12.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce delivered a strong message, stating:

If the US insists on continuing to substantially infringe upon China’s rights and interests, China will resolutely counterattack and fight to the end.

China has also lodged a fresh complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO), challenging the latest U.S. tariff measures.

This development follows a clarification from the White House on Thursday, revealing that total U.S. tariffs on most Chinese imports have reached 145%—exceeding the 125% previously mentioned by President Donald Trump.

The strong response signals a further escalation in tensions, with Beijing making it clear that it has no intention of backing down. “If the U.S. continues to impose more tariffs, China will disregard them,” the ministry stated.

“THERE ARE NO WINNERS IN TRADE WAR”

China has escalated the ongoing trade conflict by filing a new complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) over the latest round of U.S. tariff hikes. On Wednesday, President Trump unexpectedly announced a 90-day tariff suspension for most countries—excluding China. The move prompted the European Union to delay its own retaliatory measures, a decision Trump described as “very smart.”

Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Trump acknowledged that the tariffs could bring about “transition costs” and “problems,” but maintained that “in the end, it’s going to be a beautiful thing.”
