Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi Out of Coma, Recovering Well

Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is out of an induced coma and recovering well after undergoing emergency surgery for a serious abdominal injury.

According to Mail Online, the 27-year-old forward is now awake and surrounded by family as doctors continue to monitor his condition. The surgery, described as complex, was successfully completed as planned.

Awoniyi was hospitalized after colliding with a goalpost during Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw with Leicester on Sunday. Despite receiving treatment on the pitch, he briefly returned to play before being taken off, as Forest had already used their final substitution.
