Two held for theft of 200 iron rods

Police officers presented Paul Yusuf and Reuben Rimamnde to Ojo Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for their alleged iron rods theft.
Defendants face Magistrate Lateef Layeni to be tried on two charges regarding conspiracy and stealing.
Two defendants entered a not guilty plea toward their criminal accusation.
ASP Simon Uche presented the case before court to claim that the defendants executed their crimes against China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) at its Ojo Trade Fair complex premises on April 21.
The suspected defendants formed a criminal agreement to steal 200 pieces of 10mm iron rods worth two million Naira which belonged to the company while it was building roads.
Accordign to the prosecutor authorities took custody of the defendants after their police arrest.
The offences contravene the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants obtained bail at N500,000 each while both required two persons with matching guaranty values to secure their release.
The hearing session was postponed to July 30 for a future reference.
