[VIDEO]I’m a proud member of Celestial church- Singer Wasiu Ayinde reveals his religion

Popular Fuji music singer Wasiu Ayinde, widely known as Kwam 1, has spoken candidly about his faith, disclosing that he is a committed member of the Celestial Church of God and has even established a parish.

During a recent interview on the Agbaletu Radiovision podcast, the Ade Ori Okin crooner shared that his religion played a crucial role in helping him navigate difficult periods in his life.

Yes, I attend Celestial Church; I am a bonafide member of Celestial Church, a proud one. In fact, I even built a church. In times of trouble, I sought religion and I also sought the face of God in two different ways. There is no place I did not search for the face of God.
This development comes just months after the singer faced criticism over a controversial remark made during his mother’s funeral, which many in the Islamic community found offensive.
In a video that went viral in January 2025, Kwam 1 used the term “Ganusi” when referring to certain Islamic clerics. The comment was widely interpreted as suggesting that some Alfas attend such events mainly for monetary benefits.

Responding to the incident, Sheikh Onikijipa used a sermon to publicly address Ayinde’s comment, offering both correction and critique. He also called on the singer to issue an apology to the affected clerics. Despite the widespread backlash, Ayinde stood his ground and declined to apologise.
