Gunmen injure 3 NDLEA officers in daring Abuja raid

Foreign members of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) received medical treatment for gun wounds they suffered during an ambush by armed threat actors during a drug raid in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) region around Jahi.
The Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Femi Babafemi announced the raid happened on Thursday evening through his statement. NDLEA personnel reacted to intelligence and surveillance reports by conducting a raid of an uncompleted structure inside NNPC Jahi.
The narcotics raid by officers recovered multiple drugs including 74 codeine bottles, 10 liters of codeine syrup, 48 grammes of tramadol, 225mg of skunk cannabis and its derivative 4.9 kilogrammes along with five android smartphone devices.
During their exit from the location NADEA operatives received gun attacks.
The NDLEA service members who participated in the operation suffered gunshot wounds which affected one person in the ribs and another two personnel received injuries in their backs and legs.

Rapid medical stabilisation took place at the Police Clinic in Garki Area 1 before the officers received additional medical care at the National Hospital Abuja.
Following this incident the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Brig.Gen.Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) thanked the Police Clinic staff for their rapid response. The Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital gained thanks from him after he personally contacted him to oversee medical treatment for the injured officers.
The NDLEA boss contacted the injured officers during his Kano official duties for the purpose of extending his well wishes and speeding up their recovery. He gave the injured security forces members his official promise that all agency resources would be activated and together with other security services to arrest the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
