Rivers govt refutes summoning Fubara, deputy

The Rivers State Government officially denied any summoning of Governor Siminalayi Fubara along with his deputy Ngozi Nma Odu to attend a Government House meeting on April 18, 2025.
The government officially declared such announcement as untrue since it did not come from their official channels.
A viral news item has spread widely through media channels on Monday which suggests Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas as Sole Administrator summoned Fubara and Ngozi Nma Odu to a meeting.
Dede Sampson Friday from the Special Services Bureau as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the State Government Secretary stated to the public that the report should be ignored.

According to Friday the false information came from unauthorized individuals who wanted to destabilize the state.
Troublemakers have created false information which aims to mislead people and cause panic in Rivers State and disrupt its peaceful atmosphere he declared.
All official communications by the Rivers State Government reach the public through official platforms listed as the Official Rivers State Government Website at www.riversstate.gov.ng and Channels of social media authorized by the state government including Rivers State Government Facebook which still require further assessment.
Press releases from both the Office of the Governor and the Secretary to the State Government along with traditional media outlets which have obtained approval appear as the last communication methods in this list.
