Trump serious about potential third term in White House

Donald Trump kept his suggestion of seeking a third presidential term alive when he spoke to NBC News on Sunday despite the two-term limit specified in the US Constitution.
Trump told NBC News reporters through a Sunday phone call that he was not being sarcastic about running for another term because there existed legal methods to accomplish this.
At 78 years old Trump declared during an NBC News phone interview followed by Air Force One press statements that he had developed specific methods which could result in a third presidential term.
During his second presidential term Trump demonstrated exceptional executive power by teaming up with billionaire Elon Musk to eliminate multiple government departments while revealing his followers seek even stronger executive power.
With four years remaining before the next election people remain devoted to asking you to run again despite that extended period. Trump claimed on Sunday during his presidential flight that his political friends strongly support what he and his team are accomplishing through their work.
The reporter asked Trump about his intentions for a third term but Trump dismissed the question by saying: “I’m not looking at that but I’ll tell you, I have had more people ask me to have a third term.”

Trump previously declared to NBC that he received proposals enabling his ability to run for reelection.
During his interview with NBC Trump acknowledged that given a scenario where Vice President JD Vance would run for president followed by an abdication of power in favor of Trump this would be one valid path.
Trump stated that many such arrangements existed yet declined to elaborate on any specifics.
Under current conditions Trump’s Republican Party lacks the required two-thirds majority within congressional chambers to change the US Constitution. Thus they need two-thirds state approval for a constitutional convention to propose amendments to the charter.
The availability of crossing this threshold seems remote considering Republicans control fewer than two-thirds of states and congressional seats.
The route he chooses for seeking presidency – Congress or states – needs subsequent approval through ratification from three-quarters of all state legislatures.
The United States has never successfully organized a constitutional convention because Congress was responsible for passing each of the 27 amendments to the constitution.
Republican Andy Ogles from Tennessee filed a House resolution during January to make constitutional amendments that allowed up to three presidential terms shortly after Donald Trump became the president.
